When The Guest House welcomes its guests today it is an old tradition that lives on.
The Guest House was built in 1810 as a whitewashed and thatched inn with two coach houses and stables. During the next 150 years it has been a popular destination for holiday makers and locals alike. The inn was the preferred setting of countless family gatherings and wedding celebrations.
In the large surrounding grounds traditional ring riding competitions of this horse loving region were held year after year. With a bit of luck you can still find the old rings in the garden.
In 1957 the inn was converted into a summer camp for children from Copenhagen as the place was well known for its clean air and its beneficial influence on health. This is still the case today.
In the neighbouring wood, Oleskobel, there is evidence that this beautiful region attracted people already in the Stone Age. Close to the sea coast you will find two unique long barrows that go back thousands of years.
